Willie Bain's Campaign Diary

Willie BainBy Willie Bain

Polling day is getting closer and I intend to end the campaign the way I started it - by getting out and about in Glasgow North East to meet as many people as possible and to tell them what I'm about.

I'm not a politician, I'm a local man and I'm hoping to represent the area where I grew up and I look forward to the 12 November.

I want to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thanks to each and every person who has come to Glasgow over the past few months to help me with my campaign, whether you've joined me on the doorsteps or helped out in the campaign centre - your hard work has been greatly appreciated.

Read Willie's PPC Profile, visit his campaign website and get involved to help keep Glasgow North East Labour next Thursday!

Where is your predecessor ? Is he out campaigning for you or does he not get up there much now that the chauffeur has gone?

Willie how are you getting on combating all the Labour voters Angus McLeod in The Times says are going to vote BNP and put them 3rd in Glasgow NE above the Libdems and Tories?

The bookies have slashed the SNP's odds so it looks like being a lot closer than most folk think. The strangest thing is that here, in Scotland, there is a virtual media shut down on reporting from the constituency, except for the usual the SNP are rubbish stuff.

Then again maybe Angus is just setting up the establishment response if you do loose.... you know; Labour loose Glasgow NE due to an unexpected BNP vote surge.

Well-made video. Sadly, the values of your parents are not the values of New Labour. That's why the country's in the mess it's in.

I am wondering how you manage to reconcile this personal/corporate gulf.

Great words and the very best of luck!
