I'm still pretty stunned by the Guardian's revelations that the News of the World under Andy Coulson hacked into my phone. I'm even more amazed to discover that I was just one of 3,000 targeted by this paper and Murdoch's News International.
I see Coulson is trying to distance himself from the report by saying he wasn't at the paper when the payout was made to Gordon Taylor. That's not the point. You were there when the crime was committed. And as Andrew Neil said tonight of Coulson's News of the World on Newsnight:
"This was a newsroom out of control. We know from your story, it has become a default position to go to these guys and get information this way.
"Everyone who knows the News of the World, everybody knows this was going on. But it did no good to talk about it. One News of the World journalist said to me tonight, it was dangerous to talk about it.
"If this behaviour was systemic in the newsroom, why would you not know about it, why would you of all people, not know about it. Either you're incompetent or complicit."
This really does call Cameron's judgement into question in hiring Coulson. McBride rightly got the sack after those childish emails. In fact, Cameron claimed the incident showed there needed to be a 'change of culture' in Downing Street.
But the systematic illegal hacking of upto 3,000 people is in a different league all together. Allowing the man who allowed that to happen into No10 would be deplorable.
So the question Cameron must answer is 'do you back him or sack him?' By the fact his people are briefing that he's "very relaxed" about the episode, we sadly have our answer.

Heres a 10 year plan for you John, find a deserted island and move there, it will take 10 years to lose all of that fat accrued living it large at Taxpayers expense, and hopefully in 10 years you'll be dead and we the British Public will never have to see or hear from you again, you stupid stupid irrelevant man!
Or did his chum Al mangle these few words into an incomprehensible morass of pretend shock?
I think Gordon should get the sack for employing Damien MacBride while he tried to destroy the reputation not only of MPs but also one of their wives. That's a question Gordon has to answer.
Your too full of yourself.
Now onto a more pressing issue about social justice, equality and fairness. The property at your disposal, but fail to use, provided by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, have you moved into this property now John? Have you responded to the notice relating to this property, or do you continue to ignore it, thus blocking the proposal to redevelop the site into affordable housing? His Honour Judge Knowles gave you a little extra time to respond to the notice, I'm just wondering if you have explained why you should not be evicted from a flat that you do not reside in, have never resided in and have little or no reasonable interest in. Or is there another reason for blocking affordable housing on that land?
Care to express an opinion John? Or would it be reasonable to assume that some questions about social justice can sometimes be very difficult to answer? In case you were not aware, the RMT have offered some alternative accommodation for you John if you're struggling to find somewhere to live.
Fixed that for you John.
There's always the third option - Cameron could sack him from his position whilst continuing to give him £133k a year, a grace-and-favour country estate and a flat in Admiralty House.
No, wait, that was you wasn't it?
Nice try, John but inventing smears about the mental instability of a man's wife ain't childish. It's a lot of things but "childish" isn't one of them.
You could say that about Brown and McBride, which is it?
Well please, Theo, furnish us with an exposition.
Fat Man who spies on all of us doesn't like being spied on himself. Or put more traditionally "all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others"
Next!
Whilst I feel sorry for those 'celebrities' having their phones tapped, it seems quite poetic that it should happen to Prescott.

You supported the government having access to this info on the public - why shouldn't the public have access to your info John?
A member of the public prosecuted under RIPA for mis-filling in a school application form (trying to avoid the worst of the education system that labour have created) while MPs getaway with full scale corruption because the House of Common authorities refuse to report them as fraudsters.
Oh - I get it, the only significant thing here is that you can have a pop at one of camerons bods... You aren't using Browns moral compass are you?
I bought Gordon Brown's moral compass on eBay for £5.50 and I don't expect to see it referred to in such a cheap way.
As for Coulson, let's see the facts emerge before rushing to judgement. With McBride he was caught out with prima-facie evidence linking him to his disgraceful behaviour. Coulson, so far, appears to be not at all connected to this act and also has faced a criminal investigation before, again, with no action taken. So there appears to be no evidence at all, as yet, linking him to this.
You have absolutely no evidence at all that links Coulson to this, the Police didn't last time either when he was Editor. I am sure also that whilst grubby politicians cling to power in the light of very damaging revelations, Cameron has demonstrated he has more integrity in this little finger than you have in your voluminous frame - he would sack him in a heartbeat.
So I would refrain from the shrill language now; it makes you look desperate.
So people are listening to your phone calls and reading your Emails. Get used to it, your Government does it to all of us "ordinary folk" every single day.
Remember, nothing to hide, nothing to fear.
What I find incredibly galling is this rotten government can legislate to read our e-mails and listen to our phonecalls; yet when it's done freelance and in the public interest; they get all high and mighty.
A pox on your house.
Yes, absolutely "Nothing to hide, nothing to fear."
Well, when you are porking your secretary you deserve to get caught. Maybe the sense of indignation he feels now gives him some sense of the indignation and anger we feel from a big brother authoritarian government when all we are doing is going about our lives legally.
I agree. Gordon should resign immediately. He allows the hacking of 60 million peoples phones every day.
This pillock has his chubby fingers all over such wonderful things as ID Cards, CCTV, DNA database (with innocent kids on it).
So after his damocene conversion to technology; perhaps we can expect one as a champion of civil liberties and a right to privacy.
I'll even bake him a cake if he does.
