Angus Reid

Two polls out this evening show the Conservatives increase their lead over Labour. Angus Reid for the Daily Express has the Tories up on 38% and Labour down on 27%, giving a gap of 11 points with the Liberal Democrats down 2 at 20%.

With similar numbers to Angus Reid, The YouGov daily tracker for the Sunday Times has Labour at its lowest rating since December 17th 2009. The Tories remain unchanged at 39% with Labour trailing by ten points, down 2, at 29%.

YouGov

On a uniform swing, UK Polling Report’s calculator indicates these figures translate either to a Conservative majority of four (Angus Reid) or a hung parliament with David Cameron five seats short (YouGov).

As Mike Smithson notes, These polls come just three days before Gordon Brown is expected to call the general election on Tuesday.
