And the winner is...

From LabourListTories love LabourList

UPDATE:

We've had a lot of fun over the last few days with the Boldfire Tory Logo Creator, where over 2,000 logos have been designed in four days.

But alas the time has come to announce the winner.

Our favourites included:

Matthew Greenaway

Will Parbury

Nicola Mortin

Dan Wilson

Keir Stitt

Andrew Peacock

Nicky O'Connor

Ellie Lennon

Tom Scholes-Fogg

But the winner of the bottle of House of Commons champagne is this simple but compelling insight into the Tory PR drive.

 By Will Parbury

Congratulations, Will. We'll be in touch to arrange delivery of your champagne.

If you're not quite ready to give up your addiction yet, Chris Paul over at Labour of Love has archived some of his favourites, and the Blackburn Labour Party have a top 10 selection. Plus, you can still create your own logos here for the time being.

Don't know where I found the time but there are more than 100 and I've starred some of the ones that I like best. See first link. But feel free to award the prize to any one of them. Also viewable on pot luck basis at my blog 27-99 and 1-24.

Seriously? Don't you think that using your private business site as a political tool might have an adverse effect on future clients buying decisions? I suppose you might be looking for public sector business, trust me, you wont be getting any of that after 2010.

Oh, and when your site tells me that you build standards driven, valid code sites and I visit them and the pages are littered with basic errors that would also make me wonder just how professional your services are.

****
So you remove the link to their site and the invitation to go there? Poor form.
Shug Niggurath @ 71 weeks and 6 days ago
To say nothing of using a logo without the rights owners' permission.
The latest, early on the 17th March is a message from the sever saying they had exceeded their bandwidth and the site is unavailable.
Do these clowns seriously think that this will improve their business prospects?
Sarah Cavendish @ 71 weeks and 4 days ago
Why waste time & money dreaming up new logos, seems the one from 1979 is still current.

Crazy Carrot @ 72 weeks ago
@ Walter Andrews: there's plenty of serious political debate on this website if you bothered to look. What's being sent up here is the Tories' obsession with image above substance.

Cameron has admitted that his party failed to warn about the financial crisis. During that time they preferred to tinker with their logo (changing it from the flaming torch to the scribbly tree) and flirt with green issues. Cameron now seems to have dropped the green agenda, possibly because he thinks it's not a vote winner anymore.

It's a bit of a puzzle why Cameron and his team (Steve Hilton et al) felt compelled to change their logo. It wasn't popular with Tory grass-roots at all, they were quite happy with the flaming blue ice cream cone lookalike logo. Possibly Cameron felt the torch was a symbol of the Tories in the hands of the plebs (Thatcher, Heath and Major) and wanted a tangible symbol of its return to the old ruling elite.
Nicky O'Connor @ 72 weeks ago
How about New (sic) Labour's obsession with image above substance? They were the masters once, managing to spin a party-wide web of deceit.

Getting a bit jealous now are we?
Man in the Street @ 71 weeks and 6 days ago
How about...

1 - We've said sorry, have you?
2 - At least we haven't got Prescott!!
3 - Make Gordon history

Have to say though, agree with Walter Andrews. Is it any wonder why the country is in such a state when all you can do is slag off the Tories and wring your hands of any blame for the issues facing us all.

After all, you were quick enough saying the boom was down to you...
G BN @ 72 weeks ago

I seemed to have missed that 'sorry'.Tell me, did it happen when they were in the middle of planning new ways to wreck the country? and most of the issues facing us were started by the Tories anyway.

I'm just glad that we haven't got a wussy prissy twit as a leader who gives in to everything the public say.
Nicola Mortin @ 71 weeks and 6 days ago
Yes, stupid public, if it weren't for them the Labour Party could stay in power for as long as it wanted. Obviously these problems will take longer than 12 BLOODY YEARS TO SORT OUT!

You make the boy Miller look like an intellectual heavyweight (sorry Tom).
Winston Smith @ 71 weeks and 4 days ago
Dry your eyes mate.
Josh Eades @ 71 weeks and 6 days ago
The pointlessness of our political system is summed up by your website.

We are in the middle of the biggest economic upheaval in modern history and labour is reduced to making bad jokes about their rivals that only their fellow political chums will look at.

No discussion of what happened over the past couple of decades to get us where we are. Bland acceptance that because the problem is global, no blame can be attributed to the leaders of one of the most powerful nations in the world, which was home to the most important financial centre. A city that was responsible along with New York for setting the global financial agenda.

Truly, truly sad.

No thoughts on the role of the IMF, the World Bank. The policies they inflicted on millions in poor countries. No thoughts now on the continuing obsession with privatisation (thanks Peter M) whilst the financial houses supposed to underwrite such things have either gone bust due to their greed or been nationalised themselves.

Can't get to it. The site is offline.
Nicola Mortin @ 72 weeks ago
It was likely taken offline after the conservatives realised their political rivals had no original material of their own and had resorted to twisting something which probably had a good lot of time spent on it into an immature and crude way of glorifying themselves. You're a disgrace to our ideology.
