Either your list or the Labour website are wrong, as they say Ian Murray (Edinburgh South) has nominated David, not Ed, Miliband. I assume they have got it right, although they did have a picture of the wrong Angela Smith up against her name for a while a couple of days ago.

Frank Dobson's come out in support of Ed Miliband (source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/audio/2010/may/21/guardian-daily-podcast)
Ryan Thomas @ 14 weeks and 6 days ago
Alex! Graham Morris (Easington)?
derek barker @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
Interesting to see two members of the Socialist Campaign Group on this list (Hamilton and Riordan). This likely has implications for a leadership challenge from John McDonnell.

Given that in order to get enough nominations, McDonnell would need the support of the entire Campaign Group (and then some), perhaps this is an indication that McDonnell plans not to run (or that if indeed he runs he would again fail to get enough support from PLP members). Interesting stuff, in any case.
Ryan Thomas @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
It is worth remembering that declared support is not the same as a nomination. In 2007, Diane Abbott and Anne Cryer both nominated John McDonnell while saying they would probably vote for Gordon Brown. The PLP has a special duty when nominating which must go way beyond a decision simply to nominate the individual they support: it is to ensure that a decent range of candidates can proceed to the electoral college. The PLP failed very badly in this duty in 2007 and it would be a disaster if they were to fail that way again.
Duncan Hall @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
I agree entirely. I would certainly like to see McDonnell in the race - all shades of party opinion (and I stress party opinion, not just PLP opinion) need to be represented.
Ryan Thomas @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
Ryan, on the left Cruddas will mop up, McDonnell's chance is gone
ian robathan @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
What are your thoughts now that Cruddas has declined to run?
Ryan Thomas @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
What about Jeremy Corbyn, Alex?
Duncan Hall @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
I'd say by all means Duncan, but the problem is the PLP were too nervous to sign John McDonnell's nomination papers in 2007 as they were frightend of upsetting Gordon. I don't think Jeremy would get enough support from the nervous old women who make up the current party in parliament.

There should be a candidate from the Left though
Alan Giles @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
Hi sorry - a bit of confusion! I'm a great supporter of Jeremy's; I would back John McDonnell if he chooses to stand this year. I was merely responding to Alex's enigmatic message here (www.labourlist.org/jeremy_corbyn) which didn't seem to respond to anything else in the article or thread.

I was wondering whether Jeremy had followed other left-wingers like Linda Riordan in backing Ed Miliband which, as well as being a surprise, would presumably signal that John McD had decided not to run.

At this point I'm hoping that that ISN'T what Alex was suggesting...

"Peter Hain (Neath)"

Kiss of death.
Lofty Spencer @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
Not in the same way as Campbell, Mandy and Purnell! I'll take Hain over those rats any day.
Alex Otley @ 15 weeks and 3 days ago
That's secured the Tango/St Tropez vote then.
