Cameron falls apart in gay rights TV interview

David Cameron fell apart on TV tonight, in an interview about the Tories’ position on gay rights and broadcast on Channel 4 News.

Asked about a law coming into effect this week in Lithuania – condemned as similar to Section 28 – and a motion in opposition to the law in the European Parliament which was supported by Labour and Lib Dem MEPs, Cameron said, “Um, I don’t know about that particular vote” before getting into a standard answer on the Tories’ new grouping in the European Parliament.

Cameron then completely fell apart, backtracking and stumbling repeatedly as he couldn’t give any further clarifications.

Later, Cameron gets flustered again and asks whether the interview can be stopped, and started again “from scratch”:
